Shiftwave plans $20,000 recovery chair with personalized sessions
Shiftwave planned to show its Arc chair and Active Regulation software at Eudemonia on Nov. 6–8. The $20,000 chair combined pulsed pressure waves, guided breathing and audio with personalized session software.

Shiftwave announced its Arc chair and Active Regulation platform to support stress management, recovery and performance, Athletech News reported. The company planned to demonstrate both at Eudemonia in West Palm Beach, Florida, from Nov. 6 to 8.1
The reclining chair combined pulsed pressure waves, guided breathing and audio, and retailed for $20,000. The software recommended sessions based on how users felt, their goals and the time available. It included more than 100 protocols developed with trainers, psychologists, sports performance coaches and researchers.1
Select sessions used BioDrive, which measured users' pulses and adjusted vibration patterns in real time. Shiftwave's existing Pro chair was also compatible with the platform, and first Arc deliveries were expected in mid-February.1
For gyms with a Pro chair, compatibility offered another path to the platform; a new Arc cost $20,000.1
