Sekonda launched its first smart ring, a £79.99 stainless-steel tracker with no ongoing subscription, FitTechGlobal reported on October 28. The ring tracks sleep, heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), blood oxygen, stress indicators, skin-temperature trends and menstrual cycles, the report said.1

It also logs steps and workouts, and its data can sync with Apple Health and Google’s Health Connect, according to FitTechGlobal. Sekonda’s product page also listed the £79.99 ring as subscription-free and advertised sleep, temperature, cycle, step and stress tracking.1,2

For trainers, the ability to sync ring data with health and fitness apps could make those measures part of client wearable-data discussions; Sekonda described the ring as a general-wellness product, not a medical device.1
