Austria’s Federal Competition Authority (AFCA) said on November 4 it cleared One Way Capital Holding’s planned purchase of Speedfit. One Way Capital Holding belongs to Basic-Fit Group, which also includes clever fit, the authority said.1

Speedfit and clever fit each operate several low-cost fitness studios in Austria, according to the authority. The authority said it found no competition concerns after reviewing company data and surveying competitors and other fitness and health operators.1

The deadline for seeking a deeper court review expired November 3, so the merger may be implemented, it said.1
