Static Monsters opens first online qualifier for 2027 World Championships.
Entries opened Nov. 1 for Static Monsters’ first online qualifier, which gave athletes unable to attend in-person events another path toward the 2027 World Championships. Video submissions were due Feb. 14, 2027, and the top 10 ranked athletes were to receive automatic invitations.
Static Monsters said its first online qualifier created another route for athletes worldwide to qualify for the 2027 World Championships. It said the online format let athletes who could not travel to a Worldwide Qualifier still compete, with scores counted in the official global ranking.1
Online entries opened Nov. 1, 2026, and video submissions were due Feb. 14, 2027. Successful online submissions were to be combined with in-person qualifier results, with both released together in the ranking.1
The top 10 ranked athletes were to receive automatic invitations to the championships, scheduled for Sept. 18–19, 2027, in Benoni, South Africa. The organization said athletes had to read the 2027 online qualification rules before entering and that submissions failing those requirements would not be accepted.1
