The petition asked The Gym Group to reconsider or seek a nearby replacement. The outlet said staff and personal trainers faced uncertainty.
The Gym Group’s Waverley Gate gym in Edinburgh was scheduled to close permanently on November 30, the outlet reported.1
A public petition launched November 4 and asked the company to reconsider the closure or find a nearby replacement. The outlet said lease talks had broken down, but it had not confirmed what caused the dispute.1
Staff and personal trainers at the site faced uncertainty, the outlet said. The outlet added that freelance trainers could lose established clients if members could not travel to other gyms.1
