GoodRx published a guide on bone-health considerations for people taking GLP-1 drugs on November 2, 2026.1

It said GLP-1s could increase bone-loss risk in some people, and that weight loss could reduce the stimulus for new bone growth. The guide said aerobic and resistance exercise both place mechanical stress on bones, and described a study in which participants combining GLP-1 treatment and exercise lost weight without losing bone density.1

GoodRx also said lower appetite could make people taking the drugs fall short on calcium, vitamin D, iron and protein. For trainers, the article connected bone health to both exercise and nutrition considerations for clients taking GLP-1s.1
