World Triathlon recognizes hybrid racing in partnership with HYROX

World Triathlon and HYROX signed a term sheet for a strategic partnership that recognized Hybrid Racing as a discipline within World Triathlon. The federation’s announcement said a longer-form agreement would set out the partnership’s full operational, governance and commercial framework.1
Hybrid Racing combines running with functional fitness workouts and will use three formats: Ultimate, Fast and Ultra. World Triathlon will sanction and govern all three formats, which it said would be developed jointly with HYROX.1
HYROX will exclusively operate the official world, continental and national championships for elite athletes in the Ultimate format. World Triathlon’s national federations will have the opportunity to organize events across all three formats, including national championships for age-group athletes.1
The arrangement creates a federation-led route to age-group national championships, while the detailed operating framework remains to be finalized.1
